Our Service

Food Leads offers a meal kits service with recipes curated by local chefs and dieticians that are diabetic friendly, heart healthy, interesting, and flavorful! We focus on incorporating primarily fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Our meal kits include pre-portioned ingredients to make it simpler for our customers to quickly create a diabetic-friendly meal. While our meals are curated with a focus on being chronic disease friendly, they are also great for anyone wanting to improve their overall nutrition, increase consumption of fresh fruits & vegetables, try new recipes, or merely have the convenience of a meal kit!

Food Leads prioritizes sourcing our ingredients from local Columbus-area farms which have a focus on regenerative and sustainable agricultural methods. We believe that produce grown using organic, regenerative practices should be available to everyone, regardless of income demographics. By purchasing meal kits through Food Leads, you are supporting our local farmers and the growing Columbus-area food movement. Check out the local farms we partner with here.

Food Leads currently distributes diabetic-friendly meal kits and offers nutrition education as a part of a diabetes enrollment program at the following pantry locations:

• The All People’s Fresh Market

• The Linden Market

The markets distribute fresh produce to Columbus residents making less than 200% of the federal poverty line. With this partnership, we aim to elevate the transformative work that the market does and make it simple for market members to receive consistent support with managing and/or reversing their Type 2 diabetes or prediabetes. 

Our Future Plans-Coming Fall 2023

Food Leads is currently in the process of evolving into a social enterprise with the intention of expanding our impact, increasing access to our meal kits, improving our communities’ nutrition, and ensuring our organization remains financially sustainable.

We plan to sell our meal kits in partnership with area businesses in the key communities we support as well as in local farmers markets. Check back soon for lists of area businesses where you can purchase our meal kits, when and where we will have pop-up sales, or have a presence at the local farmers markets!
